Kybella®.
Non-surgical treatment for the double chin.
How Kybella works.
Kybella is made of deoxycholic acid — a molecule your body uses naturally to break down dietary fat. Injected under the chin, it destroys fat cells on contact. Your body processes the destroyed cells over the following weeks.
Treatment plan.
Most patients need 2–4 sessions spaced about a month apart. Ali will map your treatment at your free consult. Results are permanent — the destroyed fat cells don't regenerate.
Side effects to expect.
Most common: swelling under the chin (lasting 1–4 weeks — the more swelling you see, the more fat is being processed), bruising at the injection sites, numbness in the treated area for a few weeks, and a hard or lumpy texture as the fat dissolves. These are all part of the process — not signs of a problem. Less common: difficulty swallowing, nerve injury causing temporary uneven smile (rare and resolves on its own). Ali talks through all of this in detail at your consult before you commit.
Before & after care.
Before: avoid blood thinners (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil) for 5–7 days unless prescribed; arrive with clean skin in the treated area. After: expect 2–4 weeks of swelling — wear loose collars; sleep slightly elevated; apply ice as needed for the first 48 hours; avoid strenuous exercise for 48 hours; no neck massage for at least a week; use SPF 30+ daily. Final results show at the 12–16 week mark.
Best use cases.
- Submental fullness (double chin)
- Patients wanting non-surgical option
- Candidates with good skin elasticity
