What CO2 fractional does.
A fractional method removes columns of skin while leaving surrounding tissue intact — supporting faster healing. Typically one CO2 treatment is recommended; maintenance sessions may be added over time.
When to schedule.
Fall and winter are 'laser season' — treated skin is hypersensitive to sun for up to a year after. Shorter days, more time indoors, less UV exposure. SPF 30+ daily regardless of season.

Often compared to a rubber-band snap. Topical anesthetic, or injected local anesthesia, is used to keep you comfortable.
Can darker skin be treated?
Yes — Erbium laser resurfacing is often the better pick for lighter African-American, Hispanic, or Asian tones. Darker skin may benefit more from radiofrequency treatments or microneedling. We'll pick the right tool at your consult.
Anything that affects outcomes?
Be honest about medications (Accutane, aspirin, blood thinners) and conditions (diabetes, cold-sore history). Smoking cessation 2 weeks before and after is strongly recommended.
